Gravity later went on to make Ragnarok Online.īy far, Tales of Phantasia is my favorite RPG, even if I loved the system in Grandia games. Lloyd (the main protagonist) and his companions are likable enough but still borderline on generic in the JRPG genre. The characters combined with the plot were really moving to me. Its to bad Namco is a bunch of dip weeds and most of the original Tales of Phantasia team left to join Enix (later to become Tri-Ace and make Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, and many more) The plot once again demands the saving of. Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is a great game, one of the best of the Tales series. Valkyrie Profile is a game I’m playing through right now (I’m nearly at the end of disc 1). The game captures your attention immediately with its deep storyline. This is another hard game to put down because the plot is so engaging and the system is so unique (seems similar to Xenogears, but not). If you can find a copy of this rare gem, I’d suggest you not hesitate to pay any amount of money for it, as it’s a very valuable game as far as RPG’s go. I only mixed poison in his food.īoise: Watch your tongue. Its stupid Enix didn’t make another printing of this game, as it’s far more refined then Star Ocean 2, and probably has the best English VA job outside of Grandia 2. You are speaking to Tethe'alla’s Prime Minister.īoise: Heh. Soldier: We’ll defend the king to our death!! I see commoners from the poor world have no manners.īoise: Fight? Killing me won’t stop the war. Rebel: Surrender, Your Majesty! Our revolutionary government has taken control of the castle. Lord Boise prepared for everything and started the revolution. Lloyd: Are you planning to destroy Sylvarant?īoise: Not just Sylvarant. I will get rid of the half-elves too, Lloyd. The new world I will create will only be for those who are superior. I will find a suitable place for the barbarians of the declining world and the half-elves. Let’s see… How about locking them up in human ranches?īoise: Oh, but I am more than serious! All honest people in the world believe that only beauty should prevail. They think that everything ugly should be cursed. Kyrie: Lloyd, you’ve traveled around the world looking for Exspheres. Lloyd: I’ve seen plenty of guys like you. They knew what Exsphere were, but they let themselves be swallowed by their power. I’ll never give them to you!īoise: If I push this button, the chains holding Colette will break and she will fall to her death. Without her Cruxis Crystal, she won’t be able to fly either. Lloyd: Keep your promise! Release Colette now!īoise: My promise? I don’t remember promising anything. Lloyd: Why? Why did you do this? What did Colette do to you? What did the people from Sylvarant and the half-elves do to you?īoise: Nothing. Inferior beings taint beauty with their mere existence. All citizens of Tethe'alla now declare war to those inferior beings from Sylvarant! Lloyd: I’ve heard plenty of guys calling people who were different that.īoise: I shall announce to the blessed people of Tethe'alla that our grand reign has begun. Rebel: Tethe'alla was badly damaged by Derris Kharlan’s appearance and has lost its glory. And yet all we do is provide aid to Sylvarant, again and again. Rebel: This is a war to protect Tethe'alla! The revolutionary government promises you wealth, safety, comfort, and beauty.
